As the weeks add up, so do the pounds

I had a checkup yesterday with my doctor. This wasn't a very involved visit...weight check, urine sample, listen to the baby's heart, any questions...."Okay, see you in a month" kind of checkup. My commute to get there was twice as long as the appointment. Jason and I both usually get on the scale at the doctors office. I go first, groan and then get my blood pressure taken. Jason gets on there and has this look like "Are you sure I'm not the one pregnant" look on his face. I know the number on the scale doesn't matter when you're pregnant, but my number (which I'm not going to reveal to anyone) is higher than I'd ever thought it would be. I guess I forgot that you have to gain lots when you're pregnant. Even pregnant I hate the scale. Jason and I are ready for our eliptical machine to be delivered....if we gained the weight together, we can surely lose it together :)

The next visit is when they check for diabetes, which is a long appointment and then after that I start going every 2 weeks. Baby Scoggins will be here before we know it.

The Scoggins Family

This is from Jason's birthday earlier this month. Just a fun family picture in front of the fireplace.

The nursery and genetics!

The belly at almost 22 weeks

Baby Boy's crib

The rocker I had recovered.
It belonged to Jason's great-
grandmother.

Jason and I already know that Baby Boy Scoggins will be spoiled rotten by his grandparents (all 6 of them). We didn't think however it would start this early. (This is not a complaint) Our son already has received his bedding and a dresser to match the crib and changing table Jason and I bought. His room is going to be painted soon and a curtain is going to be made as well. He has no idea how much he's already loved by his grandparents. What a lucky guy.

I have a doctor appointment on Monday so I'll report back my stats then, but I wanted to attach a picture of my growing belly. I've almost hit 22 weeks, which means only 18 to go. I'm ready to meet my little man and I know Jason is too. Louie's not sure what to think, but he did give my belly a lick the other day. Baby Boy Scoggins is definitely taking after the Scoggins side on his hyperactivity...some days he just can't stay still. I don't want to be too quick to give a diagnosis, but ADHD does typically get passed down on the father's side of the family. :) At least he'll have a full head of hair when he's old (that gets passed down on the mother's side and my dad has a full head of hair). On a side note...I keep praying he gets Jason's eyesight (I'm blind as a bat..thanks dad).

Pop Goes the Belly & Fun times in Tahoe

Jason and I watching the Superbowl

This is a shout out to Ashlea...
An inside joke from a fun night
in Ft. Worth.

Belly pics at 20 weeks

Side view at 20 weeks

Jason and I spent Superbowl weekend in South Lake Tahoe with Leah and her family. It was supposed to be a fun, ski filled trip. I was finally going to learn to ski. BUT...since I've never learned or tried to ski before, the doctor said I couldn't since I'm pregnant. What a bummer! So Jason, Leah and Jill (a friend from high school) got to go and ski. One day I will finally learn to ski...it looked like so much fun. Anyways, I got to get a massage and gamble. I played blackjack for a very long time and finally feel like I know what I'm doing. While we were there I started getting these pains in my hips. Scary at first, but then I found out by researching on the internet that they are "growing pains". Well...a few days after that I looked in the mirror after taking a shower and had a "OMG" moment...I'm really and truly pregnant and there's no hiding it now. I've only gained 7 pounds, but its all belly. I even had to take out my belly ring. It was sad since I've had it for 9 years. My belly looks different...No ring and much bigger.
