June 2010

I cannot believe June has already come and gone! It has been a very busy month for the Scoggins' household. Many already know, but Jason and I are expecting another baby November 10th. This pregnancy was more difficult than with Ian in that I had some complications during my 3rd month. Luckily, all is well and we are both doing great and growing by the minute. Baby Jaxon (yes, another stinky boy) will be here before we know it.

Ian and I have spent most of the month at the pool. His favorite is playing in a plastic pool in the backyard. We had a whale pool, but Louie got excited and harpooned him with his teeth. Now, we have a simple plastic pool for him to splash around in. He likes to give Louie his tennis ball and watch him run around.

I've also hit my "nesting phase" head on. Because Ian came so early, I really want to make sure I'm ready for Jaxon to get here way ahead of time. I've also let Jason know that he cannot do any home improvement projects six weeks prior to my due date. :) So far, we've (when I say we...I mean Jason does and I assist with as much as I can) built a deck in the attic so we could put all our crap up there, cleaned out the spare bedroom, gotten the crib and set it up, put together a storage system for the closet and did some decorating. My plan is to be 80% ready for him to get here by the time I go back to work. This way the weekends can be spent organzing and spending some good time with Ian before his world gets turned upside down with a baby brother.

Ian had his one year check up mid-month. He had to get 4 shots, but because of his chubby thighs, his crying was minimal. Dr. Miller said he was doing great developmentally and was progressing on schedule. He weighed in a 25lbs and was 29.5 inches long. He's a lug to carry around and unfortunately is in his "clingy, I need my momma stage" which means he wants to be in my lap and everywhere I go. He still has 4 teeth. My mom likes to refer to his front top teeth as his "beaver teeth". They are pretty cute, but they hurt when he bites, which he tends to do about once a day. I have the bruises as proof.

I'll try to add pictures soon. Ian is getting so big and just took so great 1 year old pictures recently. I'll get those up soon.

Memorial Day fun!

We had a busy Memorial Day! My friend Claire and her hubby Matt came in town for Ian's birthday from St. Louis. We had so much fun this weekend playing around town. We went to the Wylie Memorial Day celebration this morning.

We also went to the outlet mall, lunch, dropped Claire and Matt at the airport, walked around Firewheel Mall and went swimming in his whale pool in the backyard. Whew...it was a busy, but fun day around here. I'm looking forward for a fun filled summer with Ian.

Ian's Birthday Party

Ian's 1 year old birthday party was this weekend. We had friends and family travel into town for the big day. The theme was Clifford the Big Red Dog. All the kids who came got personalized dog tags for the occasion. We had lots of fun with all the "puppies". I can't believe my baby is already 1. (above Ian is playing in his new splash pool)

Mother's Day

For Mother's Day, we went to brunch at Woodbridge that morning.

1st Rangers Game

We took Ian to his first Rangers Game last month. He had lots of fun. He missed his nap, so he catnapped on Jason's chest during the 2nd and 3rd inning. He slept right through a homerun which included fireworks.

After the game, we went and got Ian a Kinsler #5 shirt since they share the same first name. He did well at the game and loved being outside. We'll probablyl take him again soon before it gets too hot.

Happy Easter!

Ian's first Easter was very uneventful. We actually missed church that morning because he was taking a nap. He's been a real beast for naps and bedtime recently...he's still teething! So he and I stayed home while mom and Jason went to church.

Next year will be more fun because he'll actually be able to hunt eggs. This time around we just played with them and he chewed on the little chick.

Lisa Marie visits

Lisa came to visit the end of March and go through what we deemed "Baby Bootcamp". She passed with flying colors. She's expecting and due in September. For those who don't know Lisa, she used to babysit my brothers and I when we were little and basically became part of the family. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding and is like a sister. She was a very big help especially since my mom had just had surgery on her shoulder. We had fun eating and visiting. I wish she lived closer....maybe one day.

She can't get enough of those feet.
